Summit Background
The automotive cockpit is entering a new phase. Agentic AI, multi-modal interaction, on-device intelligence and software-defined architectures are transforming it from a digital interface into a proactive, context-aware experience. But bringing these technologies into production requires OEMs and suppliers to balance compute, latency, privacy, cost, safety and software scalability. At the same time, the expansion of L2+/L3 systems is blurring the boundary between cockpit and automated driving. Driver monitoring, takeover HMI, situation awareness and trust are becoming increasingly important to both safety and user experience. Euro NCAP’s 2026 protocols also place greater emphasis on driver monitoring, driver engagement and HMI performance. The 3rd European Automotive Intelligent Cockpit and Smart Driving Summit 2026 will bring together OEMs, suppliers and technology leaders to explore how AI, HMI, cockpit software and automated driving can move from PoC to safe, scalable production-and how intelligent vehicles can interact with humans in a more intuitive, trustworthy and effective way.

Back at the European Automotive Intelligent Cockpit & Smart Driving Summit, this time in Stuttgart! 🚀 It’s incredible to see how far the discussions have advanced since last year. AI-driven experiences, next-gen cockpit design, and smarter autonomous systems are moving rapidly from vision to reality. As a UX designer, I’m especially inspired by how technology and design are merging to create intuitive, human-centered in-car experiences. Connecting with industry leaders and exchanging perspectives is a powerful reminder of the role design plays in shaping the future of mobility. Excited to be part of this evolving journey and looking forward to what the next chapter will bring. Thank you to ECV International for hosting such great event.

Honored to contribute as an invited speaker at the European Automotive Intelligent Cockpit and Smart Driving Summit 2025 (ECV Auto Events), held in Stuttgart, Germany, on September 25. I presented on advanced SoC architectures, functional safety, and the #AI-driven evolution of intelligent cockpits, highlighting how #LLM-powered experiences are set to transform future in-vehicle platforms. Events like this underscore the importance of scalable and #safety-driven #computing #architectures to enable next-generation cockpit and display solutions in software-defined vehicles.

Last week I attended the ECV Auto Events in Stuttgart, and I’m still inspired by the discussions where AI, personalization, and design clearly stood out as the three big themes shaping the future of automotive HMI. A big thank-you to ECV International, Gia Xu, and our fantastic chair Fabian Chowanetz & Felice Fortino, as well as all the brilliant experts and participants who made the event so energizing.

Last week, I had the opportunity to attend some fascinating presentations on the latest developments in AI in cars at the Intelligent Cockpit Summit hosted by ECV International. For me it was fascinating to see the ideas and real-world applications that exist for improving the HMI experience for users and, at the same time, increasing driving safety and avoiding or at least reducing distractions caused by manually searching the display, using artificial intelligence and voice input.

Grateful to have joined the 2nd European Automotive Intelligent Cockpit & Smart Driving Summit in Stuttgart this week. We discussed how real driver behavior often surprises us, and how AI can support creativity while keeping experiences simple, human, and brand-led. Big thanks to Guang Yang for great moderation, and to Fabian Chowanetz for a steady lead as chair throughout the day. Appreciation to Gia Xu and the ECV International team for the kind invitation and a well-organized event. And to my friends at KONTROLKA - HMI Concept & Design studio for the collaboration and support. Let's keep designing things that bring people closer.

Everyone was lovely, and I had numerous great discussions with some of the industry's thought leaders. There were, of course, many interesting talks about AI, its impact on personalisation, and equally important, the risks involved. But, there was also an emphasis on User Experience, which could often be easily left out when we're thinking about getting ahead of the competition and shoving new technology in our product without thinking about the user first. This was the focus of my presentation, "Creating Invisible UX", which was about taking a step back and creating experiences that help user save their precious time and reduce stress. I'm so glad that many people agree with this, but I've also appreciated subsequent discussions and even challenges to my point of view.
